Website project brief

Tell us what you're picturing.

Six short steps. The more you give us here, the more accurate the quote and the fewer rounds of back-and-forth later. Nothing is compulsory — skip anything you're unsure about and we'll work it out together.

Your business

The basics, so we know who we're building for and where you work.

Plain words are best. "We do roof replacements and storm damage repair" beats "full-service exterior solutions."
Towns, counties, or a radius. Be specific — this drives how you show up in local search.
Include it even if you hate it. Knowing what's there tells us what to keep and what to bin.
Anywhere you already post photos or collect reviews. We can often pull content from these.

What the site has to do

This is the most important question on the form. A site built to get phone calls looks nothing like a site built to sell products.

Pick the one that matters most. You can add others below.
Homeowners? Builders? Property managers? Age, budget, what they care about. The more specific, the better the copy we write.
Be honest and specific. "We answer the phone" is a real advantage. "Quality workmanship" is what everyone says.
If you have a site — what frustrates you about it? If you don't — what made you decide it's time?
Call, fill in a form, book online, or something else. Every page will point at this.

Pages & content

Tick what you think you need. We'll tell you honestly if something's missing or unnecessary.

What we usually recommend. Most trade and service businesses do well with five to seven pages:
  • Home — what you do, where, and how to reach you
  • Services — one page per main service if you want to rank for each one separately
  • Gallery / Past work — the page that closes the sale
  • About — who you are. People hire people
  • Contact — form, phone, hours, service area
More pages isn't better. Five good pages beat twelve thin ones every time.
Writing is included either way. Most people find it easier to talk it through than write it.

Look & feel

This is where most projects go wrong — so be picky. Showing us three sites you like saves a week of guessing.

The single most useful thing you can do here. Go find three websites you genuinely like — any industry, doesn't have to be a competitor — and paste the links below with a note about what you like. "I like how clean this is" or "I like the big photos." That tells us more than any adjective.
Just as useful. Especially a competitor's.
Pick up to three.
Hex codes, or just "the green from our truck wrap."

Photos & video

Photography does more for a website than anything else we can build. Be honest about what you actually have.

What good photos look like.
  • Finished work — 10 to 20 shots, taken in daylight, straight on rather than at an angle
  • Before & after pairs — the single most persuasive thing on a trade website
  • You and your crew — real people, working, not posed against a wall
  • Trucks, equipment, shop — shows you're a real operation
  • Full resolution — straight off the phone or camera, not screenshots or Facebook downloads
No good photos? Say so. We'll either work around it or tell you it's worth a few hundred dollars to hire a photographer for an afternoon.
Google Photos, Dropbox, your phone, your Instagram. If you can share a link now, paste it here.
Where are your reviews? Google, Facebook, Houzz, Angi? We'll pull the best ones onto the site.

Practical bits

Last few. These decide the quote and the timeline.

Worth knowing. If a previous designer registered your domain in their name, you don't actually own your own web address. It's common and it's fixable — but tell us now rather than at launch. Everything we build, you own outright: the site, the domain, the Google profile.
A trade show, a season starting, a grand opening.
Our prices are published and fixed, so this is just to point you at the right one.
Anything at all. Something that went wrong last time, something you're worried about, something you're excited about.

Got it — thank you.

Your brief is on its way to us. We'll read it properly and come back within 72 hours with questions, a recommendation, and a fixed price.

If it's urgent, email hello@crisplinedigital.com and we'll move it up.
